DIET: Seeds, nuts, fruits,
berries,
and vegetable manner procured in the treetops.
These majestic birds are a true forest species and are usually
observed in pairs or small family groups. They use tall
trees as their nesting sites and their chicks emerge four months
from the time they hatch. Green-winged Macaws are declining
in the wild due to habitat loss, and are already extinct in
Argentina. These big colorful Macaws are great companions
when acquired as hand-raised babies.
